Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of anxiety levels on students' mathematics learning achievement, the influence of mathematical communication skills on students'mathematics learning achievement, and to determine the effect of anxiety levels and mathematical communication skills on students' mathematics learning achievement. This research was conducted at SMAN 4 Kupang in the academic year 2017/2018. The population in the study were students of class X MIA SMAN 4 Kupang consisting of 144 students with a sample of 106 students taken randomly. The type of research used is quantitative research and the analysis used is simple regression analysis and multiple regression. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 22 for Windows program. From the results of SPSS 22 for windows,in multiple regression analysis the level of anxiety and mathematical communication skills affect the learning achievement of mathematics and the regression equation Y ̂ = 12,262 + (-980 X1) + 0,002 X2 and Fcount = 36,020 ˃ 3,08 = F table then rejects the meaning there is a significant influence between the level of anxiety and mathematical communication skills on the mathematics learning achievement of class X MIA SMAN 4 Kupang in the academic year 2017/2018. Based on the results of the SPSS 22 for Windows output,a partial test of the level of anxiety and mathematical communication ability has a significant influence on mathematics learning achievement and multiple regression tests, anxiety levels and mathematical communication skills have an influence on mathematics learning achievement.
