Abstract

In the learning of teachersare still difficult to enable students to learn, sothat the learning process has not met the standard process as expected. This leads to alow quality of learning characterized by low learning outcomes. One way to improvestudents' learning outcomes is to apply a learning model that can enable students inthe learning process, here the researchers apply cooperative learning model approachNumbered Heads Together and hink pair shreThis study aims to determine the effect of applying cooperative learningmodel approach Numbered Heads Together and Think Pair Share on student learningoutcomes class VIII On the subject matter of photosynthesis At SMPN 2 kupangAcademic Year 2016/2017. This research type is quasi experimental research withresearch design non equivalent control group design. Data were collected throughobservation and tests. The data were analyzed quantitatively using descriptive andinferential statistics including normality test and homogeneity test with the help ofSPSS version 16,0 withsignificant level of 0.01.The results showed that the learning outcomes of pretest and postteststudents by applying cooperative learning model of Numbered Heads Togetherapproach were 51 and 76.83, respectively. While for student learning result beforepretest and after posttest by applying cooperative learning model of Think Pair Shareapproach each is 52,83 and 79,17. The influence of the implementation of cooperativelearning model Numbered Heads Together approach and Think Pair Share isindicated bythe results of the normality test with Kolmogorov-Smirnov techniques inclass Numbered Heads Together approach is pretest posttest 0.11 and 0.78 while inclass approach to Think Pair Share is pretest 0 , 25 and posttest 0.55. This shows thenormality testof both normal approaches because the results of pretest and posttestvaluesare more than significant 0.01. Homogeneity test of the pretest and posttestapproach Numbered Heads Together and Think Pair Share ie, 0.103 and 0.935 theresults showed the presence of homogeneity because hasinya higher than the 0.01significance level.The conclusion from the result of this research shows that there is influenceof applying cooperative learning model approach Numbered Heads Together andThink Pair Share to student learning result SMPN 2 Kupang Academic Year2016/2017. It can be seen from the comparison of probability value (sig.) 0,01 withalpha value where alpha value (sig.) 0,00 <probability value (sig.) 0,01.
