Abstract

Discovery learning approach is a learning approach to develop active learners learning ways by discovering themselves, investigating themselves, the results obtained will not be easily forgotten by students. Based on observations when the practice of fieldexperience in SMAK Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang high school found several problems namely students are less active in learning, students are less directly involved in the learning process, learning tends to be teacher-centered, students are less trained to work together, find their own concepts to analyze a problem an rarely to convey ideas from statements given by the teacher. To overcome these problems, the discovery learning approach is applied in learning so that students are actively involved in the learning process, students can develop their own creativity so that the teacher is only a facilitator not dominating during the learning process. The purpose of this paper is to find out the learning outcomes in learning that apply the discovery learning approach to the Redox and Electrochemical material of class XII IPA 1 SMAK Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang students based on the practice of field experience (PPL) in the academic year 2019/2020. The results of the analysis obtained the learning outcomes of students in learning that apply the discovery learning approach to the Redox and Electrochemical materials of students of class XII IPA 1 of SMAK Sint Carolus Penfui Kupang based on PPL experience in the academic year 2019/2020 has increased. This improvement in learning outcomes is seen from the learning outcomes at each meeting, the first meeting was 79,35, the second meeting was 83,37 and the third meeting was 86,21.
