Abstract

The average learning outcomes of chemistry, especially in the molecular shape of students, are still low. The cause of the low learning outcomes of chemistry in these schools is that students are more likely to memorize rather than understand concepts so that it causes students to be less trained to develop thinking skills in solving problems and applying the concepts that have been learned into a problem. The general problem of writing thisscientific paper is how the effectiveness of the application of the Discovery Learning approach on the subject matter of molecular forms on the ability of teachers to manage learning, completeness of indicators and completeness of learning outcomes of class X MIA2 students of SMA Kristen 1 Kupang. Writing this scientific paper aims to determine how much the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning approach to the subject matter of molecular forms on the teacher's ability to manage learning, completeness of indicators and completeness of the learning outcomes of class X MIA2 students of SMA Kristen 1 Kupang. The Discovery Learning approach is a type of learning in which students build their own knowledge by conducting an experiment and discovering a principlefrom the results of the experiment. Writing scientific papers aims to improve and find solutions to real problems in improving the learning process in the classroom.From the data the results of Field Experience Practices show that the application of the Discovery Learning approach is effective for learning. This can be seen from the teacher managing learning well with an average score of 4 with good categories, completeness of indicators with an average score of 0.82 and completeness of learning outcomes with an average of 84.06 which indicates greater than the KKM value which set.Thus, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning approach is effectively applied in the learning process, especially on the subject matter of molecular form.
