Abstract

This study focuses on morpho-syntax happening in this dialect. The study attempts to answer its research questions (1) What are morphological processes in Lio-Aku Dialect? (2) What are the syntactic structure of Lio-AkuDialect? The objectives of the study are (1) to find out the morphological processes in Lio-Aku Dialect (2) to find out the syntactic structure of Lio-Aku Dialect. This study is descriptive-qualitative. The data were obtained through recording. The data then are transcribed using ELAN and glossed using FLEX. The result of analysis uncovers the research questions as follows. (1) Morpho-syntax of Lio-Aku dialect for the language construction Lio-Aku dialect does not make use of subject verb agreement and tenses. For example, Kita ka are no lèja-lèja which means We eat rice every day. For nominal sentence the language construction of this language does not make use of to be. For instance, kai guru which means she/he is a teacher. (2) Lio-Aku dialect also has relativizer distributed as adjective clause in this language and modifies a noun or pronoun in this language. The relativizer is eo which can be found in this sentence Jon pati kami ika tunu eo ena translated as Joni gives us grilled fish which is delicious.
