Abstract

This scientific paper aims to determine the comparison of mathematics learning by using NHT and STAD type cooperative learning models. The NHT learning model is a learning model that conditions students to think together in groups where each student is given a number and has the same opportunity in answering problems raised by the teacher through random calls. Meanwhile, the STAD learning model is a learning model that emphasizes team performance based on team recognition based on team recognition obtained from the sum of all individual progress scores for each team member. Team formation is based on students' academic achievement in class. Based on the theoretical studies that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the NHT type cooperative learning model is better if applied in mathematics learning compared to the STAD type cooperative learning model
