Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out (1) what are the linguistic expressions of emotions in Uab Meto (2) what are the semantics forms of the expressions of emotions in Uab Meto. The purpose of this research is to describe semantics in Expressions of Emotions in Uab Meto qualitatively-descriptive. The data of this research were presented in the forms of words and sentences. The method used in collecting the data was by using field linguistic. The primary data (oral data) is utterances of Uab Meto, namely words, phrases and sentences obtained through an interview, taking notes and record technique. The result shows that the meaning contained in the Expressions of Emotions in Uab Meto is lexical meaning and grammatical meaning. Those semantics elements resulteds denotation meaning, connotation meaning, referential meaning, intransitive meaning and progressive meaning. The meanings reflect the life of Dawanese people who have polite language and unique culture.
