Abstract

Bad boys in conflict with the law must face the judicial process and be treated differently from adults. This is based on the children's physical, mental, and social differences. Children become criminals due to various factors that cause a child to become a criminal offender. Children who commit criminal acts are not generally treated like criminals, but they will be treated specifically by always being accompanied by the Correctional Center to go through each process to find out what factors cause the child / perpetrator to commit a crime. The method used in writing this thesis is empirical legal research with a criminological approach, the data source used is primary data which is obtained directly from several parties related to the money theft case and the Alak Sector Police investigator. And secondary data, namely through books and documents related to research problems. As well as the Act. KUHP, SPPA Based on the results of the interview, there were 4 cases of theft committed by children during the last 3 years in the Alak Sector Police, Kupang City. However, out of the 4 cases, there were 2 cases of money theft in the Manulai II Village area, of the 2 cases the author succeeded in interviewing one of the perpetrators with the initials BT, the researcher not only interviewed the child / child but the author also succeeded in conducting interviews with the victim and parents of children / perpetrators of money theft cases. And based on the results of the interview, there are several factors that cause the child / perpetrator to commit theft, including: family factors, economic factors, social factors, lifestyle factors and environmental factors. Conclusion: The Alak Kota Kupang Sector Police investigators have made every effort to resolve the cases of children, but what remains is the role of the parents who are the closest parties to the child / perpetrator to be able to educate and supervise children so they do not fall into the same act.
