Abstract

The problem in this writing is: (1)Why are symbolic modeling techniques applied to improve students' asertive behavior? (2) What is the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques to improve students' asertive behavior? (3) Is the application of symbolic modeling techniques effective for improving students' aserative behavior? The purpose of writing this thesis is (1) Knowing the reasons for the application of symbolic modeling techniques in improving the asertive behavior of students, (2) Knowing the process of applying symbolic modeling techniques in improving the asertive behavior of students (3) Knowing the effectiveness of the application of symbolic modeling techniques to improve the asertive behavior of students. The type of data in this thesis is qualitative data using the method of literature study. The object of the study in this writing is symbolic modeling techniques and asertive behavior. The data source used by the author is secondary data in the form of books, articles and journals related to this writing. The result of the discussion is: symbolic modeling technique is one of the techniques that is assumed to help overcome one's cognitive problems, therefore the author can use symbolic modeling techniques in fixing the cognitive problems of counsellors that are related to inertive behavior to be asertif. Procedures for implementing symbolic modeling techniques to improve students' asertive behavior, namely; example, practice/practice, homework and evaluation. he effectiveness of this symbolic modeling technique received empirical support from several previous research articles that said that symbolic modeling techniques are one of the affective techniques in improving behaviors such as,kemandirian belajar,improving self efficacy behavior, reducing students' aggressive behavior and improving students' asertive behavior. From the results of the study, the author received empirical support on symbolic modeling techniques is one of the techniques that can be used to improve students' asertive behavior. Based on the results of the above discussion, the author gives advice to; (1)The author, this thesis is expected to contribute thought in expanding insights and concepts about the use of symbolic modeling techniques to improve asertive behavior. (2) Observer of BK problem, this thesis is expected to be a reference material for bk problem observers regarding the use of symbolic modeling techniques to improve asertive behavior.
