Abstract

Pencak silat is an authentic Indonesian martial art, which is classified as one of the cultural heritages of the ancestors of Indonesian people. The development of martial arts itself has penetrated throughout Indonesia, including the East Nusa Tenggara province, where the development is quite good which is marked by the growth in the number of college members and the achievements of martial arts athletes from the province of East Nusa Tenggara which have reached international level. But this good development,needs to be maintained so that it can continue to survive from time to time both in terms of culture and the achievements of the sport branches. Based on that, it is thought to create an architectural container as a place to conserve pencak silat within the scope of the East Nusa Tenggara province in the form of a silat padepokan In general, the purpose of writing this paper is to plan and design a Padepokan Pencak Silat of East Nusa Tenggara Province as a forum for the preservation and training of pencak silat which is currently developing in this province The design concept emphasizes the aspects of pencak silat as well as the vernacular architecture transformation approach in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. this aims to make this forum to serve conservation and training activities ideally and still reflect the cultural locality of the province of East Nusa Tenggara
