Abstract

Discovery learning approach is a discovery approach that encourages students to develop an active way of learning with concepts and principles to discover for themselves, investigate for themselves. Objectives: (1) Knowing the learning that applies the discovery learning approach to the molecular form material of class X MIPA 5 SMAN 3 Kupang based on Field Experience Practices (PPL); (2) Knowing the learning outcomes of students in learning that applies the discovery learning approach to the molecular form material of class X MIPA 5 students of SMAN 3 Kupang based on Field Experience Practices (PPL). The writing of this scientific paper is based on the author's experience during the Field Experience Practice (PPL) at SMAN 3 Kupang in 2019. The method used in writing this paper is descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of this paper study are: The acquisition of student learning outcomes in learning that applies the discovery learning approach to the molecular form material for class X MIPA 5 at SMAN 3 Kupang is 83 and is declared complete because the acquisition of student learning outcomes is greater than the specified minimum completeness criteria (KKM) at SMAN 3 Kupang, namely 75. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning approach to the molecular form material can improve student learning outcomes.
