Abstract

East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) is one of the regions where fabric is woven that is known all over the world. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Culture Organization (UNESCO) has recognized that NTT fabric has become the cultural area of the civilization of the people in NTT. The woven motif worn by a person is recognized as a feature of the tribe to which that person belongs. Likewise with the woven fabric North Central Timor (TTU), which has three main ethnicities, namely Insana, Biboki and Miomafo. Within these 3 races there are many types of weave designs and patterns that are similar but not the same. A system was then set up to recognize the classification of TTU weave patterns using the Neural Network method, namely Backpropagation. The method used in this study is to use the waterfall method in several stages, namely analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance. The software is created with the programming language Java in the Intellij IDEA Code Editor. From this research, the system can recognize patterns and classify woven fabrics.
