Abstract

Theaims of this study are determiningthe reason for Ume Tola (Custom House) to be in Hainik (Cooled), to know the process of implementation of Hainik Ume Tola culture (Cooling of Indigenous House), to know Pancasila Values contained in Hainik Ume Tola culture (Refrigeration Traditional House) in Sekon Village, Insana District, North Central Timor District? This study applied a qualitative descriptivre approach that examining an object by collecting, describing and anayzing data and facts and drawing conclusion accordingto the purpose of research. Researcherapplied observation, interview and documentation study. Informants in this study are the traditional leaders (6 people), socialites (1 people), and people who understood the Hainik Ume Tola (2 people). The results of this study indicate that: 1.Costum house or Ume Tola must be in Hainik (Refrigerated) in Sekon Village District of Insana District of North Central Timor because the materials used in making custom house from nature (forest) for it must be in Hainik (or cooled) so that thr place or custom house can be kept away from danger, sickness and evil spirits (kaisan fe kit maputu malala) but give a cool place (nfe kit manikin oetene). 2. The process of cooling the traditional house (Hainik Ume Tola) in Sekon Village, Insana Sub-district, North Central Timor District, has three major processes, namely the process of planning where the process invite relative in the tribe and then collects the material for the custom house, the animal that will be dug. The process of making custom homes where members in the tribe work together to establish custom house order. The cooling process (Hainik Ume Tola), where the tribe invites the indigenous elders from other tribes who are in the village to witness the making of traditional house and then work together the customary house stitchung and end it with customary prayer blessing and the mass of thanksgiving by the pastor as sign of completion of Hainik or cooling the custom house. 3. The values of Pancasila contained within the Hainik Ume Tola culture (the cooling of traditional house) are among others: the value of Godhead, humanity, the value of unity, the value of democracy, and the value of justice.
