Abstract

Research has been carried out on the identification and testing of the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of widuri leaves (Calotropis gigantea) from the village of Karawatung West Solor district East Flores district. The aim is to determine secondary metabolit compounds, antioxidant acticity and IC50 value of widuri leaves (Calotropis gigantea). Extraction of active compounds using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. Identification of secondary metabolites compounds using phytochemical test methods. The antioxidant activity test was carried using the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). A total of 250 g of thistle leaf extract powder samples macerated with 70 % ethanol obtained a thick extract of 43,88 g with a yield of 17,552 g. The phytochemical test results showed positive samples alkaloid, flavonoid and saponin compounds. The results of the antioxidant activity test obtained data on the percentage of free radical inhibition from the concentration series of sample solution of 125 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm dan 1000 ppm of 2,237 %, 14,958 %, 41,931 % and 75,265 % respectively. The IC50 value of the sample extract is 545,426 ppm which indicates weak antioxidant activity.
