Abstract

Phytochemical screening and characterization of secondary metabolites compounds ethanol extract of butterfly leaves (Bauhinia purpurea L.) from Nasi village, TTS regency has been carried. The purpose of this study is to identify the properties and characteristics of the secondary metabolites compounds ethanol ektract found in the butterfly leaves (Bauhinia purpurea L.). The study is done using extraction methods, chromatography, UV - Vis spectrophotometer, and IR. Extraction from 100 grams of butterfly leaf samples was obtained 15.01 grams of strong ethanol extract with rendemen 15.01% b/b. The screening of phytoysis suggests positive for flavonoids, terpenoids, tannin and saponins. The extract of ethanol fractionation is analyzed with thin layer chromatography using chloroform: methanol: water (13:7:2). Further refined by chromatography the same practical column. Fractions derived from yet another layer of plaid chromatography with the same family. Fractions that have the same spot as Rf 0.92 combined and add a dose and then analyze the UV-Vis spectrophotometer indicate absorption at the maximum wavelength of 230 nm. While the ir spectrum indicates vibration OH alcohol (3357,84 cm-1), vibrator of C-H alifatik (2975,15 cm-1 and 2895,15 cm-1), vibrator C=C (1660,42 cm-1) and C-O (1089,23 cm-1).
