Abstract

This research entitled “MANAGEMENT OF KONA BA’U TOURISM OBJECTS IN BOTI VILLAGE SOUTH CENTRAL TIMOR DISTRICT”. The problem in this research is what type of management that used to manage Kona Bau tourism object, and the factor which is an obstacle and support in the management process? The purpose of this study is to get an overview and know tourism management and development model which is conducted by Boti Village Government and what factors which is support and obstacle in the management of these tourism object. By looking at the objectives above, then the writer used several theories as an variable operational in this research: Management of Kona Ba’u tourism objects, management processes and organized system of management tourism according to village regulations, an increase in the number of visitors and increasing Economic level of Boti Village Community by good tourism management. The research location is located in Boti Village, Kie sub-district, Central South Timor District, the determination of the research method is descriptive, data collection techniques with interview studies, observation, and documentation. The results of research on the management of tourism objects of Kona Ba’u is in managing tourism objects of Kona Bau, the Government of Boti Village Used management system of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling or so- called POAC. Can not be separated from the POAC itself the participation of the community and traditional leaders is very large because the village government always involves all elements in the village in every planning process, supervision and implementation. Conclusions in this study is that the management process of Kona Ba’u tourism objects run according to the management system starting from, planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC), this is also coupled with the active role of the village government, community and traditional leaders in every stage of the management of natural Kona Ba’u tourism objects. My suggestion in this research is that in the management of this natural tourism object Kona Bau, Village government is expected to be able to build cooperation with local governments in infrastructure development, cooperation within the village between the village government, the community and traditional leaders must be fostered closely with all the existing inhibiting factors can be dammed and become a new force in the management of Kona Ba’u natural tourism objects.
