Abstract

Discovery Learning approach is a learning strategy that tends to ask students to make observations, experiments, or scientific actions to get the conclusion from the results of these scientific actions. Based on observations the Field Experience practice at SMAN 3 Kupang, several problem were found, namely stundents were still actively involved in the learning process, students did not have attention and interest an discipline in the chemistry learning process, students often felt reluctant when asking or answering questions asked by the teacher, it is necessary to apply the discovery learning approach so that students are directly involved in the learning process, students are active in learning and students can develop their own creativity so that the teacher is only a facilitator, not dominating during the learning process. The purpose of this paper is to learning determine the learning outcomes of class X IPA 3 students by applying a discovery learning approach based on Field Experience Practices (PPL) for the 2019/2020 academic year. The samples taken were students of class X IPA 3 at SMAN 3 Kupang for the 2019/2020 academic year totaling 36 people. Based on the analysis, it was found that the learning outcomes of students in learning that appliend the discovery learning approach of Cheminal Bonds material based on Field Experience Practise (PPL) were as follows (a) the learning outcomes for the knowledge aspect (KI-3) were declared complete with an average value of 79,7, (b) the value of learning outcomes for the skills aspect (KI-4) is declared complete with an avarage value of 82,2, and(c) the learning outcoms for the knowlegde(KI-3) and skills aspect (KI-4) are declared complete with an avarage value of 82,1.
