Abstract

The aims of this study are 1) To determine the effect of the unemployment rate and poverty rate partially on economic growth in the Province of NTT 2) To determine the effect of the unemployment rate and poverty rate simultaneously on economic growth in the Province of NTT. This study uses quantitative data, the type of data that can be measured or calculated directly, in the form of information or explanation expressed in numbers or in the form of numbers. Sources of data used in this study is secondary data is data directly collected by researchers as a supporter of the first source. The sample in this study is data on the unemployment rate and poverty rate of NTT Province in 2009-2019, then processed using Eviews 10 and analyzed using regression models and inferential statistics with four tests, namely 1) Classical assumption test 2) Multiple linear regression analysis 3) Hypothesis test 4) Analysis of the coefficient of determination (R2). The results of the research carried out show that the unemployment rate partially has no effect but is significant on the rate of economic growth because the t-count < t-table is -2.506866 < 1.69 and because the error probability value (sig) is 0.0365 < 0.05 or close to the real level. then there is significance or significance. The results of the research conducted also show that the Poverty Level partially has no significant effect on the Economic Growth Rate, because the t-count < t-table is -1.018672 < 1.69 and because the error probability value (sig) is 0.3382 > 0.05 or away from the real level then there is no significance or not significant. Meanwhile, it simultaneously shows that the Unemployment Rate and Poverty Level have a significant effect on the Economic Growth Rate. Because the sig is 0.008279 < 0.05, the inference taken is to accept the major or significant research hypothesis. Based on calculations using the F test, it is known that Fh (9.260739) > Ft 5% (3.32), so that in this study there is an influence between the Unemployment Rate and Poverty Level on the Economic Growth Rate. Based on the regression results, the Adjusted R² value is 0.622947, meaning that 62.29% of the dependent variable the Economic Growth Rate can be explained by the variation of the independent variables of the Unemployment Rate and Poverty Level. While the remaining 37.71% is explained by other things that are not included in the model,such as human resources,natural resources,progress in science and technology, inflation rates and interest rates. With the results of this study, it is suggested that the Government and the People of the Province of NTT can work well together in an effort to reduce the unemployment rate and poverty rate so that this will have a good impact on economic growth in the Province of NTT itself.
