Abstract
Organic farming system is an agricultural system that maintains environmentally friendly aspects can also be a solution in developing agriculture and improving welfare for farmers. This study aims to determine the effect of local microorganisms (MOL) based on stale rice on the growth and production of water spinach by applying the principle of hydroponic farming. Hydroponics is farming without using soil media but using nutritious mineral solutions that contain nutrients such as coconut husk, sand, broken bricks or sawdust as a soil substitute medium and can be done in a narrow yard. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of MOL on the growth and production of kale and kale plantscan determine what dose of MOL solution can increase the growth and production of kale plants. The method used in this research is an experimental method which is carried out in 4 treatments by controlling eachtreatment, namely the first treatment with a concentration of 0.04 L MOL, the second treatment with a concentration of 0.06 L MOL and the third treatment with a concentration of 0.08 L MOL. and control treatment with 0 L MOL. The results of this study indicate that giving MOL solution with various concentrations on the growth and production of kale plants has an influence on the growth and production of kale plants. From the results of this study, it can also be seen that the use of MOL solution at the highest concentration has a significant effect on the growth and production of kale, namely at a dose of 0.08 L. Factors that need to be considered in organic farming with a hydroponic system using MOL solutions are temperature, pH, lighting and others. The things that are used as benchmarks in this study are the growth and production of kale plants.
