Abstract

An expert system is a system that seeks to adopt human knowledge to a computer in order to solve problems as is usually done by experts. Basically the expert system is applied to support problem solving activities. In diagnosing ear disease, a doctor needs data in the form of symptoms that are being experienced by the patient. One of the problems that often occurs at the Fatumnutu Health Center is the lack of understanding of nurses in dealing with patients according to the disease experienced by each patient. In this case, at the Fatumnutu Health Center there is no doctor who understands more about how to handle some patients who suffer from ear disease. The purpose of this study is to produce an expert system to diagnose diseases of the ear using the forward chaining method as a solution to overcome existing problems so that it can facilitate the handling process. The expert system for diagnosing ear disease is web-based using the PHP programming language and database storage using MySQL. where this system is expected to help nurses at the Fatumnutu Health Center in providing services to patients suffering from ear disease.
