Abstract

Animals are creatures created by God, which they also have life just like us, humans. Because of this reason, animals have the right to have a living place in which they felt comfortable to live in. They also should have the right to be protected so that their species won’t ceased to exist. These are the reasons why there needs to be a place to keep and protect these animals. The place in which has the purpose to give the animals a comfortable living place, also to protect these animals from irresponsible people for the purpose so that these animals won’t ceased to exist and can continue to live on. This place should have the right facilities so that these animals won’t ceased to exist and can continue to live on. This place should have the right facilities so the animals can live comfortably. Other than to give them a proper shelter, this place could also fuction as a place where people could learn about these endangered animals. East Nusa Tenggara Province, especially Kupang City, only has few conservations place. However, the numbers of animals that these places could kept are limited as well.. With the existence of Zoo, we hope it could be both a conservation place and recreational place that could help endangered animals and the people to learn about them. Designing a building, especially to design a huge area like Zoo, it is important to pay attention to how it is in harmony with the nature, especially because a Zoo will become a place where animals will live, those animals must be able to feel comfortable in their effort to adapt with their new environment. Organic approach hopefully could result in designing concept that could be one and close with the nature, keeping the ecosystem alive, and giving animals comfort, which also should apply, to the humans that came to visit for recreational purposes.
