Abstract

The purposes of this study are 1)To find out the description of women fish traders in the Oeba Kupang market, 2. To find out how much contribution women fish traders make to family income. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data with the research subjects namely women traders of dried fish in the Oeba Kupang market, totaling 10 informants. The results of the study show that 1. The increasing household economic needs require women to work together to help improve the household economy. Women fish traders who are in the Oeba Kupang market besides acting as housewives, they also have a dual role, namely helping the family economy as dried fish traders, with the aim of increasing family income. 2. The contribution given by women fish traders at the Oeba market for the family is very large. In this case, it can be seen from the income received and used to finance family needs. The capital required is Rp. 1,000,000 - Rp. 6,000,000 per month, the highest expenditure is Rp. 5,500,000 - Rp. 6,500,000 per month, totaling 5 people, the highest income is Rp. 3,000,000 - Rp. 5,000,000 per month, totaling 5 people, with the highest saving. Rp 500,000 – Rp 1,500,000 per month totaling 5 people, and the most dominant saving institution is cooperatives.
