Abstract

The problems in this study are 1) Why self-management techniques through group guidance are used to improve student discipline in schools. 2) What is the procedure for using self-management techniques through group guidance to improve student discipline at school. 3) Is the use of self-management techniques through effective group guidance services to improve student discipline in schools. The purpose of this study was to find out 1) the reasons for using self-management techniques through group guidance services to improve student discipline in schools. 2) The procedure for using self-management techniques through group guidance services to improve student discipline in schools. 3) The effectiveness of self-management techniques through group guidance service to improve student discipline in schools. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with literature study method. The object of study in this research is self-management techniques, group guidance services and student discipline in schools. Sources of data used by the author is secondary data in the form of books, articles and journals related to this research. The result of the discussion is that self-management techniques through group guidance can be used to improve student discipline at school because, with self-management techniques through group guidance, students can control their own condition and environment by changing their own behavior in a better direction. The procedure for applying self-management techniques through group guidance to improve student discipline in schools is carried out through group guidance steps, namely: the formation stage, the transition stage, the activity stage and the closing stage. Effectiveness of using self-management techniques to improve student discipline in schools is supported by the results of research conducted by Sari (2014), Isnaini et al (2015) Argo (2017), Muratama (2018), and Rahmawati (2019). Starting from the results of the study above, suggestions are given to the author so that this thesis can be a useful tool in implementing knowledge about self-management techniques through group guidance as a way to improve student discipline at school. Furthermore, to BK teachers, it is hoped that this thesis can be used as a reference in schools for the development of guidance and counseling science, especially in the use of self-management techniques through group guidance to improve student discipline in schools.
