Abstract

Traditional market is a place or container that is identical to the activity of buying and selling goods or services. Traditional markets emerged as human demands to fulfill their needs. In Indonesia, traditional markets can be found in every area, both rural and urban. Traditional markets cannot be separated from the lives of the small people, because the actors in the market, starting from producers, traders, and buyers, are mostly small people. In addition, the interaction pattern in the traditional market itself, which is more intensive and intimate, makes traditional markets more frequently visited by the public. Kefamenanu city is one of the cities that still maintains its traditional market, namely Pasar Baru. The new market has also become a priority among the Kefamenanu people in meeting their daily needs. However, this is not followed by the feasibility of the facility. There are many problems in this market, one of which is the unavailability of proper selling stalls for traders. In addition, there are many other problems that interfere with the continuity of buying and selling activities in Pasar Baru. Responding to these problems, a better New Market planning is needed. Through a green architectural approach, the Pasar Baru building can be realized which is cleaner, environmentally friendly and can create thermal comfort for visitors, buyers and other market users.
