Abstract

The problems studied in this thesis are why symbolic modeling technique are used in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making, how is the process of applying symbolic modeling technique in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making and whether the use of symbolic modeling technique is effective in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making. The purpose of writing a thesis is to find out the reasons for using symbolic modeling technique in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making, knowing the process of applying symbolic modeling technique in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making and knowing the effectiveness of using symbolic modeling technique in increasing student self-efficacy for further study decision making. The writing of this thesis uses the method of literature study, namely examining books, managing articles of previous research results related to the topic being studied. The type of data used is qualitative data, namely the authors review information from books and articles from previous research, and analyze the data presented in the form of words and not numbers. The object of study in this thesis is about symbolic modeling techniques and further study decision making. The results of the study in this thesis show that the symbolic modeling technique is a technique that can be used in increasing self-efficacy for further study because the way this technique works is to present examples of positive behavior that can influence the observer through pictures, written materials, audio, videos, films, or slides, in this case the videos, pictures or slides that are shown can help students to have confidence in themselves so that they can determine further studies according to their interests and talents. Symbolic modeling technique are techniques that have procedures or steps that are systematic, such as rational, giving examples, practice practice, homework, and evaluation. The use of symbolic modeling techniques in increasing self-efficacy for making further study decisions is said to be affective because symbolic modeling technique have been proven by researchers who show that symbolic modeling technique are proven to be effective in improving the behavior of the subject under study and also effective in reducing irrational behavior thinking of individuals who are better or better. reduce the individual's negative thoughts behavior for the better
