Abstract

Various policies have been issued by the Indonesian government to reduce the rate of the spread of the corona virus by imposing social distancing, physical distancing to implementing PSBB (large-scale social restrictions) in several areas. Learning Media using audio-visual media has optimized the teacher's role as a motivator, this is proven by the attention and motivation of students to follow the listening process during the research. Students are actively involved in learning activities such as observing, finding out, giving suggestions, listening and exchanging opinions with other students. The purpose of this study was: to determine the magnitude of the effect of the use of audio-visual media (video) on student learning outcomes on temperature and heat material at SMA Negeri 2 Fatuleu Barat. To achieve the objectives of this study, a quantitative research type with a non-equivalent control group design was used. The research instrument was a questionnaire and the data collection technique used was a test question. The data is calculated using the Validity test, Normality test, T-test, and Effect Size test and describes the data and draws conclusions. The results showed that: Questionnaire sheets of student responses to audio-visual media (video) on two experts showed that 12 statement items were declared valid, as evidenced by the results of the analysis with an average of 0.760. While the test sheet for learning outcomes for two experts showed that 10 items of temperature and heat were declared valid, as evidenced by the results of the analysis with an average of 0.798. The results of data analysis were normally distributed after the normality test was carried out with the pretest and posttest sig values in the control class and the experimental class got a sig value of more than the 0.05 level with the pretest control sig level of 0.096, posttest control 0.168, experimental pretest 0.200 and experimental posttest 0.146. The results of the T-test resulted in a t-count of 6.134 with a df value of 18 so that the t_table for a significance of 0.05 was 1.734. The data shows that t_count>t_table so that H_a is accepted, meaning that there is an influence on student learning outcomes. for 2 post-test control of 0.675 and for 2 post-test experiment of 0.719. This means that there is an effect of using audio-visual media on student learning outcomes. the percentage of usability of audio-visual media is 81.81% with a very high category. This shows that 81.81% of students strongly agree that the use of video media can help students understand the concepts of temperature and heat. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is an effect of using audio-visual media (video) on student learning outcomes on temperature and heat material at SMA Negeri 2 Fatuleu Barat.
