Abstract

The number of objects and tourist attractions in Kupang City has absorbed tourist visits. Many tourism developments that have great potential are Nature, Culinary, History and Culture Tourism. In tourist areas, tourists can find traditions and cultures that are relatively pristine and several factors that support a tourist area. Therefore we need an android-based application with the use of Location Based Service (LBS) technology that can provide information about tourism in Kupang City and can make it easier for tourists to find tourist locations. This system is built using the waterfall methodology with the following stages: Communication (project initiation, requirement gathering), Planing (estimating, scheduling, tracking), Modeling (analysis, design) Construction (code, test) and Deployment (delivery, support, feedback). The results of this study are a tourism application in the city of Kupang based on Android using the LBS (location based service) method with the use of the GPS feature on the smartphone, to display a list of selected tours according to the attributes on the tourist menu as well as tourist descriptions, list of facilities and events. In addition, the application can show the route from the user's location to the tourist location.
