Abstract

This research was written by Yosefina Dwi Purnamasari (31117099), Development Economics Study Program with the title of the thesis: "Analysis of Poverty Levels in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara". Under the guidance of Mr. Br. Salomon Leki, SE., M.Ec.Dev as supervisor I and Mrs. Enike TjeYustin Dima, SE., ME as supervisor II. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the influence of the level of education, and the unemployment rate partially and simultaneously on the poverty level in the province of NTT? NTT. This study uses quantitative data, the source of the data studied is secondary data, the data needed in this study are: data on poverty rates in NTT Province, data on education levels in NTT Province, and data on unemployment rates in NTT province. Data collection methods in this study are: Documentation. This research was then processed using Eviews 10 which analyzed with data analysis techniques, namely 1) inferential statistics consisting of Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. 2) Classical Assumption Test consisting of Normality Test, Multicollinearity Test, Heteroscedasticity Test, and Autocorrelation Test. 3) Hypothesis Test consisting of t test, F test, and the coefficient of determination. This study shows that the level of education, and the unemployment rate simultaneously affect the level of poverty in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. Partially the level of education, and the unemployment rate have a positive effect on the poverty rate in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. With the results of the determination of the coefficient (R2) of 0.52.28 % or 52.28% of the dependent variable, the level of education, and the unemployment rate, while 47.72% is explained from the variables included in this model, the adjusted value (R2) shows a strong relationship between the dependent variable. and independently influence it. Seeing from the results of the analysis, it is recommended that the government in NTT Province further improve educational facilities and increase employment opportunities so that people in the NTT province can get out of poverty.
