Abstract

Lack of knowledge of diseases in rice plants makes it difficult for farmers to know the symptoms that arise in rice plants. To know exactly the type of disease that attacks the rice, it requires an expert / agricultural expert while the number of agricultural experts is limited and cannot overcome farmers' problems at the same time, so we need a system that is able to overcome diseases in rice plants. This system contains the expertise knowledge of an agricultural expert regarding diseases and symptoms of rice plants. In this study, a web-based expert system was designed using forward chaining rule-based reasoning to assist farmers in diagnosing rice plant diseases. An expert system for diagnosing rice plant diseases based on a web that has advantages in ease of access and ease of use. The purpose of this research is to create an expert system application that is able to identify or diagnose rice plant diseases. Making this expert system application using the PHP programming language and MYSQL database. This application can assist farmers in diagnosing rice plant diseases and can be accessed by users, to overcome the problem of the limited number of agricultural experts in helping farmers diagnose diseases in rice plants.
