Abstract

The aims of this study are (1) to determine the effect of direct and indirect spending on economic growth simultaneously in Kupang City. (2) To determine the effect of direct spending and indirect spending on economic growth partially in Kupang City. This study uses quantitative data, namely the data obtained in the form of numbers. Sources of data used in this study is secondary data, namely the source of research data obtained by researchers indirectly through intermediary media or obtained and recorded by other parties, with a significant level of 5%. There were 30 samples in this study which were then processed using Eviews 10 which were analyzed with data analysis techniques, namely 1) Inferential Statistics which consisted of multiple linear regression analysis. 2) Classical assumption test consisting of normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasti city test and autocorrelation test. 3) Hypothesis test consisting of t test, f test and coefficient of determination (R2). The results of this study indicate that the direct and indirect expenditure variables simultaneously have a significant effect on economic growth in Kupang City. This can be seen from the results of inferential statistical analysis which shows the R-square value of 0.766661 and the Fcount value of 11.49962 with a probability of 0.006137 which is much smaller than the significant value of 0.05. Partially, the direct expenditure variable does not have a significant effect on economic growth, while the indirect expenditure variable has a significant effect on economic growth in Kupang City. This can be seen from the results of the inferential statistical analysis above which shows that the value of tcount X1 is -2.283949, which means that when direct spending increases, the economic growth in Kupang City will decrease. The value of tcount X2 is -3.877734, which means that if the indirect expenditure product increases, the economic growth in Kupang City will also decrease. From the results of the regression of the direct expenditure variable and indirect expenditure on economic growth, the R-squared value is 0.766661. This means that the independent variables (free) are able to explain the variation of the dependent variable by 76.66%. The remaining variations of other variables are explained outside the estimation model by 23.34% because there are still other influencing factors such as investment, number of workers, technology level, and income.
