Abstract

Cooperative Teaching and Learning Mode Talking Stick Type is a kind of cooperative teaching and learning method that asks and challenges the students to speak up or to give opinion in a class forum. With this type the students are trained to read and to comprehend quickly what is read. Talking stick type is also used to test the students’ readiness for self-study. This type was first used by the native tribe in America in the tribal meetings. The main problem of this research is “how is the application of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type of the pressure main subject on the uneven semesteral eigth grade students of Penfui Angkasa Secondary School Kupang in the year 2013/2014 is applied? Specifically, the problems of this research are: (1) How is the teacher’s competency in managing his/her teaching and learning process of pressure main subject in the Implementation of Cooperative Teaching Mode Talking Stick Type on the uneven Semesteral Eigth Grade Students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui - Kupang in The Year 2013/2014? (2) How is the cooperative skill of Grade VIII A students of Angkasa Seconary School Penfui in the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type of pressure main subject on the uneven Semesteral Eigth Grade Students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang In The Year 213/2014? (3) How is the completeness of the students’ learning result indicators in the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type on the uneven semesteral eigth grade students of Angkasa Secondary School Kupang in the year 2013/2014? (4) How is the pressure learning result in the implementation of the cooperative teaching mode talking stick type on the uneven semesteral eigth grade students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang in the year 2013/2014? (5) How do the students respond to the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type on the uneven semesteral eigth grade students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang in the year 2013/2014? The objective of the study is to describe the result of the Implementation of Teaching Mode Talking Stick Type of Pressure Main Subject on the uneven Semesteral Eigth Grade Students of Angkasa Secondary School Kupang in The Year 2013/2014. The specific objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the teachers’ competency in managing the teaching and learning process in the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type on the uneven Semesteral Eigth Grade Students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang in The Year 2013/2014; (2) To describe the students cooperative skill in the teaching and learning activities in the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type on the uneven Semesteral Eigth Grade Students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang in The Year 2013/2014; (3) To describe the completeness of the students’ learning result indicators (IHB) in applying cooperative teaching mode talking stick type in the teaching and learning process; (4) to describe the learning result completeness of the students as a result of applying the cooperative teaching mode talking stick type. (5) To describe the students’ respond to the teaching and learning activities where the cooperative teaching mode talking stick type was applied. This is a descriptive statistical research. The subject of the research is the VIII grade A students of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui, Kupang in the year 2013/2014. The number of students is 30 from grade VIII A. To collect the data, the researcher used these techniques: observation, test, and questionnaire. For the instruments, the researcher used the Teaching and Learning Management Observation Sheet, the Student Learning Result Test (THB), and Student’s Respond Filler. The researcher then made a descriptive statistical analyzes which included computation of average score, proportion, and percentage. Based on the descriptive statistical analyzes, the result data showed that in general the implementation of cooperative teaching mode talking stick type is at the level of good for the pressure main subject on the 30 students in class eight A of Angkasa Secondary School Penfui. For the details, it can be stated that teacher’s competency in managing physics teaching on the pressure main subject is in good level in terms of teaching planning, teaching implementation and evaluation.
