Abstract

he title of the thesis The Profile of Student Assertive Behavior and Its Implications for the Personal-Social Guidance Program for Class VIIIA Students at St. Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang Academic Year 2021/2022. The problems in this study are: 1) How is the Assertive Behavior Profile of Class VIIIA Students at St. Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the 2021/2022 academic year? 2) What are the implications of the Assertive Behavior Profile of Class VIIIA Students at St. Catholic Junior High School? Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the academic year 2021/2022 for a personal-social guidance program?. The objectives of this research are: 1) Assertive Behavior Profile of Class VIIIA Students at St. Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the 2021/2022 academic year and, 2) Implications of Assertive Behavior Profile for Class VIIIA Students at St.Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the 2021/2022 academic year for a personal-social guidance program. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The data collection tool is in the form of an assertive behavior questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this research is central trend analysis. The results showed that the average population of students' assertive behavior was 124.12 in the range of scores of 100 -129 and tended to be in the high category. The results of each aspect of the assertive behavior of VIIIA students are as follows: the aspect of expressing positive feelings = 45,435 including the high category, the aspect of self-affirmation = 42,965 including the very high category, and the aspect of expressing negative feelings the score = 35,568 including the high category. Based on the criteria that have been set, the level of assertive behavior in class VIIIA students of St. Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang for the 2021/2022 academic year is classified as good. Starting from the results of the research data analysis, the researcher gives suggestions to: 1) Principal As the person in charge of educational activities at St. Catholic Junior High School. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang is expected to be able to support all planned guidance activities in schools, so that the implementation of personal-social guidance programs can be carried out and can assist students in increasing assertive behavior. 2) BK teachers are expected to improve good cooperation with homeroom teachers and subject teachers so that they can help students to maintain and improve students' assertive behavior towards a better direction. 3) Subject teachers are expected to work together and always provide information to BK teachers in schools about students who show less assertive behavior so that they are followed up in personal-social guidance activities. 4) Students are expected to be able to participate in personal-social guidance services carried out in schools so that they can help students to improve assertive behavior.
