Abstract
Muhammad Arif Maulana Hartoyo. 2015. Mathematical Concept Training High School Students In Solving Problems Based on Learning Styles powers. Thesis, Graduate Program of the Catholic University of Widya Mandira Kupang. Supervisor 1: Maria Gracia M. Gawa, Dra, M.Pd, Supervisor 2: Michael Fernandez, Drs, M.Pd. This study aimed to describe the mathematical understanding of the concept of high school students in problem solving powers. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, study subjects SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang. The study began with determining the subject of research by using tests of learning styles and see the value rapot semesters 1. The three young people have the same mathematical ability and willingness of students is also a consideration in choosing a subject, then the researchers gave TPM and interview to each student. Checking the validity of the data using a triangulation of time. The data was obtained as follows: Subjects with learning styles audiotorial on aspects of translation to explain the intent of the question in their own language, able to translate from lambing to the intended meaning and able to express what is known and what is asked. In the aspect of interpretation able to find the right concept to solve the problem in question. Capable of substituting numbers into the symbol and were able to explain the meaning of the symbol in the formula. In the aspect of extrapolation perform calculations after knowing maksut of each symbol and concluded from the results of the work with its own language. The student's learning style audiotorial able to resolve the issue in accordance with the steps on the indicator. Subjects with a visual learning style on penerjamahan aspects of communicating the intent of matter with its own language familiar with the problems that exist in the problem and identify what is known pa funds that were asked. In the aspect of interpretation able to find the right concepts to solve problems that exist in the problem and be able to apply concepts to solve problems and be able to explain each symbol contained in the formula. In the aspect of extrapolation perform calculations after determining the meaning of each symbol contained in the formula and concluded from the results of the work with its own language. Students with a visual learning style is able to resolve the issue in accordance with the steps on the indicator. Subjects with kinesthetic learning style on the translation aspect of communicating the intent or purpose of the question in their own words and express what is known pa funds that were asked. In the aspect of interpretation able to find the right concept to resolve the problems that exist in the problem and be able to interpret the meaning of the symbol in the formula. In the aspect of extrapolation able mnesubtitusikan intent of the formula but wrong in the calculation so that one of the answers that question and concluded from the results of the work with its own language. Students with kinesthetic learning style in solving the problem, the student meets the first and second steps in the indicator but do not meet the third step on the indicator.
