Abstract
The underlying question in this research is what mistake often made junior high school students to solve problems material fractions algebra operations. The purpose of this study was to describe what errors are often made junior high school students to solve problems material fractions algebra operations. This research was conducted at class VIII SMPN 8 H second semester of academic year 2015/2016 Kota Kupang amounting to 23 students, and is the subject of this study is 3 students. The results showed that the three students who become research subjects make mistakes in solving algebraic fractions operations. Mistakes made of high math ability students was a procedural error. Mathematical ability students are doing conceptual and procedural errors. While the low-ability students do math conceptual and procedural errors. Based on this research, it is hoped that teachers of mathematics SMPN 8 Kota Kupang ensure that the material prerequisites of fractional algebraic operations have been mastered by many students and provide training and guidance to students in completing these materials.
