Abstract

In the Catholic Church, the Christian faithful have the full or full right to give people property for the sake of the Church. With regard to rights and related to property, the gift must be based on freedom, without coercion, and without any hidden intentions. The gift of the people's property is very important because, with this gift, the Church can carry out all its planned missions of the Church. Therefore, by giving the people's property, the specific purpose of the property can be realized, such as: regulating divine worship, for the needs of pastoral ministers, works of charity, and means of public service. In the reality of the life of the Church today, new problems arise regarding the responsibility of Christian believers in the Church. This is based on the lack of adequate knowledge to be able to distinguish between obligations and rights in giving or offering what belongs to the Christian faithful. Sometimes people are also not aware that what is given to the Church is a manifestation of the rights that the Christian faithful have. The author also sees a reality where the people have not fully understood the meaning of a gift and the purpose of giving property to the Church.
