Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes and scientific literacy skills by applying animated video media to the subject matter of global warming by conducting experimental research with a pre-experimental design approach. Research with a pre-experimental design approach chosen is one group or one class pretest-posttest (One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The samples in this study were students of class X1 science class, senior high school from Negeri Binino who collected 17 people. The device used in this study in the form of Learning Implementation Plans, animated video media, lattices of learning outcomes test questions and students' scientific literacy skills.The results of this study indicate that the application of animated video media can improve student learning outcomes and scientific literacy skills on global warming material. This is seen from the posttest results that have increased and the results of the N-Gain Score test calculations on learning outcomes with an average value of 0.42 in the medium category and the N-Gain Score test results on students' scientific literacy abilities with an average value of 0.43 in the 0.43 category.
