Abstract

The research method used is a quantitative description method. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of understanding the concepts of students in SMA Negeri 4 Kupang on the material of straight motion based on the indicators of understanding the concepts, namely Interpreting, Classifying, Inferring, Comparing, and Exemplifying. The instrument used to collect data is as many as 10 essay questions on the material of straight motion. The results of this study indicate that the students' overall concept understanding ability based on the average result of the concept understanding ability test of 64.68 is included in the low category. Order of mastery based on indicators starting from the largest are the Classifying indicator, Exemplifying indicator, Comparing indicator, Infering indicator and Interpreting indicator are the indicators with the lowest value.
