Abstract

Thesis title: The Effect of Academic Procrastination on Student Achievement (Quantitative Descriptive Study on Class XI IBB Students of SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat Academic Year 2021/2022). The research problems are 1) How is the level of academic procrastination of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat students in the 2021/2022 academic year?. 2) What is the level of learning achievement of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat students for the 2021/2022 academic year?. 3) Is there a significant effect of academic procrastination on student achievement in class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat for the academic year 2021/2022?. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the level of academic procrastination of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat students in the 2021/2022 academic year. 2) The level of student achievement of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat for the academic year 2021/2022. 3) The significant effect of academic procrastination on student achievement in class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat in the academic year 2021/2022. This study uses quantitative descriptive methods and data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and documentation studies. The sample of this research is the students of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat for the academic year 2021/2022 totaling 27 people. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression analysis. The results of the research data analysis showed that 1) Class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat Academic Year 2021/2022 had a high level of academic procrastination with a percentage of 88.9%. 2) Class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat Academic Year 2021/2022 have a learning achievement level in the medium category with a percentage of 88.9%. 3) From the results of simple linear regression statistical calculations, obtained tcount 2.594 > ttable 2.059 and a significance value of 0.016 <0.05, with the conclusion that academic procrastination has a significant effect on student achievement in class XI IBB SMA Negeri 2 Tasifeto Barat in the academic year 2021/2022. Based on the results of the analysis of the research data above, the researcher proposes suggestions to: 1) The principal as the person in charge of the school is expected to increase his role as a leader and coordinator so that he can coordinate all school personnel to jointly help students who experience academic procrastination problems. 2) BK teachers are expected to increase their role as mentors and increase collaboration with all subject teachers so that they jointly help students who have academic procrastination problems so that students can achieve optimal learning achievement. 3) Students are expected to be able to reduce or even eliminate academic procrastination in order to achieve optimal learning achievement. 4) Researchers as prospective BK teachers in schools are expected to be able to creatively develop the knowledge gained in education to help students who are experiencing academic procrastination.
