Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine an increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes by applying a contextual learning model (countextual teaching learning) on the material of wave and sound vibrations. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Amanatun Selatan. The design of this study used the One Group Pretest-Posttes Design. The sample used in this study was taken with a purposive sampling technique, namely the students of class VIII3, totaling 30 people. The tools and instruments used in this research are teaching materials, lesson plans, student worksheets and multiple choice test questions. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive analysis and normalized gain test (N-Gain). The results showed that the contextual learning model (countextual teaching learning) could improve student learning outcomes on the material of wave and sound vibrations. This is seen from the learning outcomes test at the pretest with an average value of 47.83, the posttest average value of 52.33 and the N-Gain value of 0.50 in the medium category. And there is an increase in student learning outcomes by applying a contextual learning model on the material of wave and sound vibrations.
