Abstract

Breast cancer is mostly experienced by the people of Kupang City. At the Prof. Regional General Hospital. Dr. W.Z. John. The number of breast cancer patients in 2020 until November reached 77 patients. Breast cancer at the Regional General Hospital Prof. Dr. W.Z Johanes Kupang experienced a decline in the last few years, from 2018 to 2020. In 2018 cancer patients reached 205 people, in 2019 there were 145 people, and in 2020 until November there were 77 people. This data was taken based on cases recorded at the Prof. Regional General Hospital. Dr. W.Z. Johannes Kupang. This study aims to create an expert system that helps provide clear information for patients or the general public so that they can find out the symptoms they are experiencing. The method used in this research is the certainty factor method. The Certainty Factor method is a method to prove whether a fact is certain or uncertain and also describes the level of expert confidence in the problems at hand. The application is designed using the PHP programming language and MYSQL database, and the methodology used in this research is the Expert System Life Cycle (ESLC) method. The result of this research is an expert system application for diagnosing breast cancer that can help the general public in diagnosing breast cancer, especially helping patients get information to consult quickly about the symptoms and diseases of breast cancer.
