Abstract

The development of construction in Indonesia affects many functions - building a diverse functions resulting in the desired quality of the building is getting high. One of the construction materials most widely encountered in everyday life is concrete. In the manufacture of concrete must first go through an initial process that is making a cement paste that fills the pores between grains of fine aggregate which serves as an adhesive or binder in the hardening process so that the grain - grain aggregates are bound together by a strong and formed a mass of compact or dense and known with the term mortar. Testing properties - mechanical properties of mortar are frequently performed, such as compressive strength, tensile strength sides, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity, absorption, and porosity. The proportion of the mix and the material used is a major factor that can affect compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, water absorption, and density mortar. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanical parameters mortar of white ground and mortar of sand takari then compare the value parameter of the mortar’s. Test specimen used was mortar cube with a size of 5 x 5 x 5 cm. Mix design refers ASTM C - 109-02, with the proportion of a mixture of 1: 2 to 1: 5 for mortar sand or mortar white ground. The results showed that the compressive strength of mortar sand for 28 days amounted to 24.13 MPa 1pc mix: 2pt, 19:00 MPa 1pc mix: 3pt, 14:50 MPa 1pc mix: 4pt, and a 12:13 mixture MPa 1pc: 5pt. While the white ground mortar mix MPa 18:25 1pc: 2Tp, 15:38 mixture MPa 1pc - 3Tp, 11.75 MPa 1pc mix: 4Tp, and 8.83 MPa 1pc mix: 5TP. Modulus of elasticity for mortar sand at 13490.90 MPa 1pc mix: 2pt and mortar white ground of 10017.87 MPa 1pc mix: 2Tp. Absorption by sand mortar 4:41% mixture 1pc: 2pt and mortar white ground of 12:12% mix 1pc: Tp. Mortar porosity sands at 9:25% mixture 1pc: 2pt and mortar white ground of 25.25% mix 1pc: 2pt.
