Abstract

Discovery Learning The learning model is a model for developing Active Learning Style Learners to find themselves, to investigate itself, the results obtained will be loyal and long-lasting in the memory, will not be easily forgotten learners. With the discovery learning, learners can also learn to think and try to solve their own analysis of the problem at hand. This habit will be transferred in public life. The main problem in this research is how the application of discovery learning model learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 Giovanni Catholic High School second semester of academic year 2015/2016 Kupang? specifically formulated as follows: 1) how the teacher's ability to manage the learning activities by applying the learning model discovery learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 High School Giovanni Catholic Kupang second semester of academic year 2015/2016? 2) how completeness indicator learning outcomes of students by applying the learning model discovery learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 High School Giovanni Catholic Kupang second semester of academic year 2015/2016? 3) how the thoroughness of the study of students by applying the learning model discovery learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 Giovanni Catholic High School Kupang second semester of academic year 2015/2016? 4) how the response of students to the learning activities by applying the learning model discovery learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 High School Giovanni Kupang Catholic second semester of academic year 2015/2016? This research is a descriptive study, subjects in this study are educators (researchers) and students of class X MIPA 6 Giovanni Catholic High School second semester of academic year 2015/2016 Kupang totaling 28 learners. Learning device used in this study are as follows: Subjects of Students, Learning Implementation Plan, Worksheet Students, Sheet Discussion of Students, Grating Test Results Learning and Test Learning outcomes. Techniques used in collecting data are observation, tests and questionnaires. The instrument used in this study was the observation sheet managing learning, achievement test and a spreadsheet of responses learners. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques that include the average score, proportions and percentages. Based on the analysis of data descriptive study and discussion of research results, obtained by applying that learning to apply discovery learning model learning subject matter optical instruments in the class X students MIPA 6 Giovanni Catholic High School second semester of academic year 2015/2016 Kupang totaling 28 learners , In detail obtained by the ability of educators to manage learning that includes lesson plans, learning implementation, and evaluation of learning is good with a score of 3.79 each; 3.85; 3.79. Indicator of learning outcomes (prepared as many as five indicators of the product, the nine indicators affective, and the five indicators psychomotor with three lesson plans for each lesson plan are all completed with an average proportion of each 0.85; 0.86; 0.90. Test results of learning learners both from the aspect of affective, psychomotor and cognitive everything is finished with a score of respectively 0.80, 0.84 and 0.92. The response of students to the learning activities which include; Preliminary activities, the core activities, the closing, the allocation of time and the atmosphere of the class is done by educators are all in very good category with a score of each aspect in a row is 87.57%; 90.00%; 91.00%; 91.00%;and91.00%
