Abstract

Indonesia is rich in cultural heritage in the form of traditional fabrics, one of which is a woven fabric, which has been continued for generations in weavingproducing areas. Along with the development of market needs and the increasing number of productions, woven fabrics that previously used natural dyes are slowly turning to artificial dyes compared to natural dyes which have weaknesses, one of which is easy to fade when dried in the sun, so there is a hypothesis that the color on woven fabrics that use natural dyes will quickly fade when exposed to sunlight. In this study, to test the existing hypothesis, two experiments were carried out with a time range of drying every 30 minutes and 1 hour to produce 2 original images and 15 images after drying and through image processing using the calculated values of MSE (Mean Square Error) and PSNR. (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is an indication that there is a decrease in color in the fabric image using MATLAB in helping the calculation process. The results of this study are the RGB values and the results of the MSE and PSNR values between the original image and the image after drying which indicates that there is a decrease in color in the woven fabric.
