Abstract

Politeknik Negeri Kupang is one of the educational institutions in Kupang City, which was established in 1985, has 2 study programs namely Diploma III and Diploma IV. Based on the performance data of the Academic Performance in Politeknik Negeri Kupang, it is known that from 8 projects, only 2 projects which achieved 100% realization. Whereas the other 6 projects have not fulfilled the target set. The lowest achievement is in the projects of posting letters, manuscripts & documents into manual & Electronic files, which is only 70% of the target. This indicates that the employee performance has not been good, so the performance achievement has not reached 100%. The formulation of the problem in this study are: 1) What is the description of performance, work motivation, work experience and training at the Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang?; 2) Does work experience and training have a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation at the Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang?; 3) Does work experience and training have a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at the Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang?; 4) Does work experience and training have a positive and significant effect on employee work performance at the Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang?. The results of descriptive statistical analysis show that performance, work motivation, work experience and training in Academic Field of Politeknik Negeri Kupang fall into a fairly good category. The results of statistical tests show that variable work experience and training have a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation at the Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang; variable work experience and training have a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang; Employee motivation variables have a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang. The coefficient of determination shows that the contribution of work motivation, work experience and training variables to the variable performance of employees at Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang is 94.9%. Furthermore, the variable contribution of work experience and training to the variable work motivation of employees at Academic Section of Politeknik Negeri Kupang is 79.9%. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to the management of the Academic Field of Politeknik Negeri Kupang to increase work motivation, especially on indicators of desire to improve work capacity. Increasing employee work experience, especially on the length of employment indicator. This can be done by providing a long working period for new employees to better understand the new field of work. Improve training, especially on training time indicators. This can be done by preparing a budget so that it can more often include employees in training.
