Abstract

Public transportation is a means of transportation that cannot be separated from the lives of urban people who have no other choice in carrying out their activities. Kupang is the capital of East Nusa Tenggara Province. The population of the city of Kupang is 15,000 people and an area of 180.27 km2, with a population like this the existence of urban transportation is one of the modes of transportation needed in daily population mobility, especially in the education area. In this study, the distribution pattern of POI Education which is outside the buffer area of public transport services in Maulafa District and the performance of public transportation on educational services in Maulafa District is based on the POI index value. The aim is to determine the characteristics of the POI distribution of education which is outside the buffer area of public transport services and to determine the performance of public transport on educational services in Maulafa District based on the POI index value. The results of data analysis obtained from each kelurahan in Maulafa District, the distribution pattern of POI education which is still outside the buffer zone in accordance with The calculation of the POI index value is that there are 7 urban villages where this area has not been fully served by public transportation, from the results obtained, it is necessary to think about developing routes, expanding routes and adding bus stops or public transportation service points.
