Abstract

the purpose of this study is to (1) find out how much of the road is clasify as prone to land slides, (2) find out the location and types of roads that are included in land slide- prone areas due to road shoulders scouring, (3) find out what solution can be applied to minimize the risk of land slides. This study uses a cualitatif method. The risk a need for mapping so that we can find out where there are landslide-prone location due to road shoulder scouring, the mapping includes the west Kupang sub-disctrict on the batakte road and 40 land road. The data use are secondary data and primary data. Data collection techniques through direct observation. The causes of land slides where analized from the slop of the vegetation and the intensity of rain fall. Based on the result of the study, it is none that the road that has the potential to be landslides due to scouring of the road shoulder is the batakte road with a land of 4.54 km, a wide of 6 m, and a damage point of 300 m. This road section has an average score of 1.65 (low). And land 14 with a length of 3.62 km, a wide of 6 m and a damage point of 212 m. This road section has an average score of 1.96 (medium).
