Abstract

Dance is the most important aspect in human life and has an important role so that it is considered a valuable ancestral treasure or heritage for every community, every ethnic group, whether done in groups or in mass. The traditional dance of the Bunaq tribe is a form of Tebe dance that has existed for a long time, passed down from generation to generation in the Belu district (the Bunaq tribe). The main problem in this study is how to increase the variety of dance movements of the Bunaq tribe Tebe dance through imitation and drill methods for the young people of Mahuitas village community. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of imitation and drill methods in improving the dancing skills of the Bunaq tribe's Tebe dance among young people in the Mahuitas village community. This research is descriptive qualitative and the method used is field action. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that "Efforts to increase the variety of dance movements of the Tebe Bunaq tribe, Lamaknen District, Belu Regency through imitation and drill methods for young people in the Mahuitas village community" can be carried out in three stages, namely the first stage begins with the process of recruiting members of the young community dance group. Mahuitas village and selection of exercise schedule. The core stage provides an explanation of the Bunaq tribe's Tebe dance, introducing a modified range of movements. The final stage is staging. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the young dancers of the Mahuitas village community have danced the Tebe dance well even though in the practice process they experienced difficulties, this can be overcome by drill and imitation methods.
