Abstract

This wanno teppe dance is usually performed during wedding ceremonies and guest pick-up ceremonies. This wanno teppe dance tells how the women in the village of watu kawula make the process of making mats from pandan material. Mats are woven produts that are asually us ed for sitting and sleeping mats. For the people of sumba, the mat is one of the tools needed in almost every daily activitiy, as a tool in carrying out various activities, or as aquipment for commoniti life. The main problem in this study is how to develop the wanno teppe dance floor pattern of the wejewa ethnic group by using the imitation and drill method for the Omk Watu Kawula dance group, tambolaka city discrt, southwts sumba regency.with the aim of knowing the efforts to develop the wanno teppe dance floor pattern at OMK Watu Kawula, tambolaka city sub –district. This research uses a qualitative approach and the method used is the action and field method. Data collection techniques in the form of obesevation , interviws, and ducumentation. The results of this study indecate that the process of devoloping the anno teppe dance floor pattern of the wejewa ethic group using the imitation and drill method for the OMK Watu Kawula dance group, tambolaka city, southwest sumba Regency, was carried out in 10 meeting. Meerings of one to eight researchers teach the wanno teppe dance and practive the various movements and floor patterns pf the wanno teppe dance. The ninth mmeting of the dancers performed movents one to 12 along with their respective floor patterns accompanied by drums, drums and fan gongs. At the tenth meeting the devolpment of the wanno teppe dance floor pattern in the learning process of devoloping the wanno teppe dance floor pattern, ther were difficulties in several types of motion experienced by the group. OMK Watu Kawula dance, but this can be overcome through imitation and drill methods.
