Abstract

In everyday life music is very important for people's lives. Both a means of entertainment and as a means to convey one's feelings through the instrument used. One of the instruments that is often used is the guitar. Learning guitar for students of Junior High Scool 2 Adonara Barat with the song Bolelebo model through imitation and drill methods. The problem raised in this research is how to apply the strumming technique on the guitar with the Bolelebo model song through imitation and drill methods. This study aims to describe the process of applying strumming techniques to guitars with Bolelebo model songs through imitation and drill methods. This research uses a qualitative approach with the field action method. In collecting data, the writer uses several techniques, namely literature study and field study. Literature study related to journal books and internet sources. Field studies are closely related to data acquisition through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the application of the strumming technique on the guitar with the Bolelebo model song through the imitation and drill method for students with an interest in music at Junior High Scool2 Adonara Barat was carried out in several stages, namely the initial stage, approaching the Cultural Arts teacher, recruiting students and setting a training schedule. The core stage is carrying out an exercise process that begins by explaining the guitar playing technique material, giving examples of etudes and giving examples of how to play the Bolelebo song using the strumming technique. The final stage, presenting the results of the exercise. The difficulties experienced by students in the training process are overcome by giving repeated exercises until they master.
