Abstract
Jalan Timor Raya is a primary arterial road that has a high traffic density during peak hours. To obtain data on the average speed of the trip, in relation to road conditions and side barriers, it is necessary to conduct a direct survey in the field. This study aims to determine the travel time of vehicles per segment on the Timor. The travel time survey was carried out using the spot speed method (measured per 200 m) for each direction.. From the results of the study, it is known that the vehicle speed characteristics on the Timor Raya road are quite stable, ranging from 30 km/hour to 35 km/hour. The indicated speed difference is influenced by road conditions and side barriers in each segment. In segment A, the speed difference is 4.6%, in segment B, the speed difference is 5.1%, in segment C, the speed difference is 4.9%. In segment D the speed difference is 4.9%, In segment E the speed difference is 4.9%, In segment F the speed difference is 4.9%, In segment G the speed difference is 4.8%, In segment H the speed difference is 4 ,9%. These results indicate that road conditions have an impact on speed choice (± 30 km/hour). It is also influenced by the type, amount, scale and density of land use and the side constraints it creates.
